Jacksons Law Firm appointed as Darlington Building Society Legal Representation

Posted on 16th June, 2017

One of the region’s longest established Law Firms has been appointed as the legal representative of Darlington Building Society. Jacksons Law Firm, which celebrated its 140th anniversary last year, tendered for the work in December 2016 and was informed earlier this year of their successful bid.

The two organisations have worked together in the past and are both well established in the Teesside area with Darlington Building Society celebrating its 160th anniversary last year.

Toby Joel and his team, including Solicitors Angela Papprill and Michael Sproates will be working with Mark Redhead and his team to support the organisation with Brian Wilson and Alison Etherington. Toby was named in the 2016 Legal 500 as a leading individual and his team have been shortlisted by the Northern Law Awards 2016 and 2017 for Team of the Year, Litigation.

Darlington Building Society has ten branches across County Durham, North Yorkshire and Teesside. It was formed in 1856 as the Darlington Working Men’s Equitable Permanent Building Society to benefit the local people of Darlington. Darlington Building Society is still working hard to benefit local people, and has this year committed to donating 5% of its pre-tax profits to good causes in the local area.

Partner Toby Joel at Jacksons said, “I’m absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with Darlington Building Society again. They are a great organisation to work with and their work ethics and values are very similar to Jacksons. Both our organisations have been supporting the people and businesses of Teesside for a very long team and this year are backing the Gazette’s Invest in Teesside Campaign”.

Mark Redhead from Darlington Building Society said, “It’s fantastic to be working with another local firm, who’s values match that of the Society, we look forward to not only supporting each other, but the wider local community”.
