New staff and promotions at Jacksons Law firm

Posted on 3rd April, 2018

Jacksons Law Firm has boosted one of its property departments by appointing a residential conveyancing expert to head up the team.

Associate Solicitor, Andrea Hanna joins Jacksons after spending 10 years with a Newcastle and Chester le Street based law firm, where she managed its residential conveyancing department. During that time, she had responsibility in a technical advisory and compliance role, in addition to her client obligations. Andrea, from Whitburn, qualified as a solicitor in 2005 after graduating from Sunderland University and completing Common Professional Examination (CPE) & Legal Practice Course (LPC) from Northumbria University. Andrea has considerable experience of all aspects of conveyancing and works with clients in the North East and all over the UK.

The firm is delighted to announce the promotions of two of its solicitors. Louise White from the corporate and commercial team and Helen McCue from the commercial property team have both been promoted to Associates.

Louise White works with head of corporate and commercial, Tony Wentworth and has been instrumental in bringing the firm’s clients up to date on the new GDPR regulations coming into force this year. Louise has 15 years’ experience acting on behalf of clients to help them meet their corporate legal business requirements, including accessing finance, shareholder agreements and management buy ins and buy outs. Louise joined Jacksons after spending some time with a major law firm in Leeds and working in the family businesses.

Helen McCue trained at Jacksons prior to joining the commercial property team as a solicitor in 2014. She specialises in landlord and tenant work, sales and purchase of commercial property together with substations leases and electricity easements. Helen is currently on a secondment with Stockton BC on a part-time basis.

Two of the firm’s paralegals have been offered training contracts at the firm. Lisa Harding previously spent some time in the firm’s residential conveyancing department and is enjoying her first seat in litigation. Rebecca Logue is currently with the firm’s residential conveyancing department following a six months support role with the commercial property department.

Lisa graduated from University of Law in Bloomsbury where she also studied for her LPC and Rebecca gained her masters in law from Northumbria University in 2017.

Geoff Skeoch Senior Partner said, “We are delighted to welcome Andrea to the firm and she will no doubt be an asset to the firm. Her values and ethics sit well with Jacksons, with customer service being high on the agenda. Helen and Louise have worked extremely hard, particularly in the last year as the firm has seen an increase in new instructions. I’m confident both Lisa and Rebecca will make their own contributions to the firm during their time with us as trainees”.

Jacksons re-located its Teesside office at the beginning of October 2017 to more modern offices within the Preston Farm Business Park in Stockton. Its Commercial Property team won Team of the Year Property at the Northern Law Awards 2017.

Jacksons Law firm is one of the North East’s longest established law firms and has been practising in the Tees Valley for over 140 years. Operating from its head office in Stockton on Tees, and an office in Newcastle upon Tyne, it is well placed to assist clients across the region on a wide range of business and personal legal advice.
