Award winning law firm Jacksons continues to attract regional talent as it appoints new partner and head of corporate and commercial, Peter Robinson.
Peter is vastly experienced in the field of corporate law, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment, debt finance, group and corporate structures including joint venture and shareholder agreements and arrangements. Peter has been at partner position since 2003 and is renowned for his project managing of transactions of all types with his non-confrontational “get the job done” approach.
Originally from Dalton le Dale in Co Durham, Peter has over 25 years’ experience working for leading corporate law firms in Newcastle upon Tyne and Yorkshire, and also spent some time in-house with boutique venture capitalist, Gartland Whalley & Barker Plc.
Peter joins the team at a time of significant change to the senior management board at Jacksons, as Jane Armitage steps away from the position of Managing Partner and Tony Wentworth takes over the reins.
It is not goodbye for Jane as she will be staying on at Jacksons as a consultant, working three days a week when she will continue to maintain strong relationships with clients, whilst providing advice to the management board and technical advice to the commercial property team.
Tony Wentworth has worked at Jacksons since 1986 having originally joined the firm as a trainee. He was made a partner and head of corporate and commercial in 1994. He has, most recently, supported Jane in her role as managing partner and his long-standing experience and knowledge of Jacksons makes him the ideal candidate to be Jane’s successor.
Managing Partner, Tony Wentworth says, “We have been planning these changes for a long time and everything has fallen into place with Peter’s appointment, which will enable me to devote more of my time to the management of the firm.
