Jacksons Law Firm hands over cheque to Daisy Chain

Posted on 8th January, 2018

Jacksons Law Firm recently caught up with Teesside based charity, Daisy Chain to hand over a cheque for £1,395.73  following a number of fundraising activities organised by the charity committee at the firm.

Staff at Jacksons took part in a number of events including dress down days, a bake off, a pumpkin carving competition, quiz, raffles, an Easter egg competition and a book sale.

Holly Abbott, Corporate Partnership Manager, Daisy Chain said, “We are really grateful for all the support Jacksons has given the charity this year. In addition to all the activities and events, Jacksons have promoted Daisy Chain in a very positive light via its website, press releases and social media channels and given us exposure to their clients and contacts in the region. We rely very heavily on donations from local businesses and every single penny helps.”

Suzanne Graham, at Jacksons said, “Every year our staff are invited to vote for our charity of the year. This year we decided to support two charities near our offices; one in Teesside and one in the north of the region. Both Daisy Chain and 4Louis are close to the hearts of some of the people who work at Jacksons and their families. We’ve had fantastic support from our staff, clients and contacts, who took part in our fundraising activities, and would like to thank them for their efforts.

Daisy Chain was established as a charity in 2003 by its founder, Lesley Hanson whose son was diagnosed with autism at an early age. Lesley became disgruntled by the lack of support for children with autism, and she set out to provide a haven for children and their families. Sadly, Lesley passed away in 2004 but her dream lives on thanks to extensive fundraising and support from the local community and businesses in the region. The charity opened its £1m day centre in 2010, the first comprehensive facility to provide holistic support to children with autism and their families, in the UK. Its facilities include a farm, soft play area, sensory rooms, arts and crafts room, IT suite and meeting rooms.

The charity helps more than 1,900 families in the Tees Valley supporting 581 children each week and provides 599 hours of respite. If you would like to find out more about the charity visit www.daisychainproject.co.uk.

Jacksons Law firm is one of the North East’s longest established law firms and has been practising in the Tees Valley for over 140 years. Operating from its head office in Stockton on Tees, and an office in Newcastle upon Tyne, it is well placed to assist clients across the region on a wide range of business and personal legal advice.
