About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has extensive experience in finance, to join our Finance team, based at our open plan office in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a permanent role, which offers an excellent entry point into an ambitious and caring organisation and provides a superb opportunity for development and the acquisition of new skills.
This role will be varied and will involve a wide range of accounting and administration tasks, with the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the Finance function. The key duties will include:
- Processing day to day client related transactions
- Posting client & office bank statements
- Raising WIP and disbursement bills
- Providing support to all legal departments
- Checking and processing completion packs
- Various client related reconciliations
- Audit and general control reviews
- Archiving and general administration duties
- Adhering to Solicitor Accounting Rules
Whilst it would be an advantage for you to have prior Legal Cashier experience, this is not essential, as training will be given.
You will be joining a friendly team of four colleagues, who are supportive and looking forward to welcoming you!
Ideally this is a full-time position, but we are open to applications from candidates preferring to work 4 days per week. We also operate a fantastic Flexible Working Scheme, to help our employees to balance the demands of their work and home life.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role must have the following skills, experience and qualities:
- Highly experienced in a financial role, ideally including Legal Cashier experience.
- Excellent communicative & organisational skills
- Strong analytical, numerical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Proactive with a willingness to take on new challenges
- Articulate with a strong eye for detail
- Ability to pick things up quickly whilst maintaining accuracy
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Flexibility to travel to our office in Newcastle on an occasional basis, in line with the needs of the business
