Better Days

Posted on 28th September, 2021

My days are filling up pleasantly at the moment with real life events with real live human beings. I’m speaking at a couple soon as well (see our events page for details). I have to admit it’s been quite a while since I’ve stood up on front of real people but we have a lot to talk about, reflecting over the last 18 months, sharing news and best practice tips for clients and prospects.

I’m not the only one who has been reflecting I realised – recent experience seems to suggest a genuine theme of people having taken stock and deciding to exit, to retire, to seek pastures new, in all sorts of different ways. It’s led to a number of talks with different people considering their exits,  is the subject of a talk I’ve given a few times in the past and will become the subject of one I’ll shortly be giving again: how to get (and keep) your house in order.

If you are a seller seeking a buyer, or a business seeking investment, getting yourself in shape and looking tidy and organised when answering questions/producing documents, will all help you present yourself in the best possible light, and reinforce the message that your business is well run, efficient and valuable.

Spending time getting the basics in order will be helpful massively later down the line: your business information, statutory books, property leases and agreements, key contracts, asset registers, intellectual property details, employment etc, etc. Sort it, gather it and know it. Having copies to hand and the ability to answer questions quickly will make you look well organised, your business well run, and everything very credible.

Just…. A better way to do things.

If you are a business owner and looking for advice on any of the above, please contact Peter Robinson on 01642 356500/0191 9336409 or email probinson@jacksons-law.com.
