You may be wondering at this point if J.K.
We are always told that traditionally, August is meant to be quiet with everyone taking their summer holidays but this week at Jacksons we have been bucking the trend.
Back many years ago, one of the standards for judging what the man in the street would think was referred to from case law as how something would be judged by the man on the Clapham omnibus.
No-one could dispute that summer had arrived last week. The temperature soared and in an office with no air conditioning like ours fans were on full pelt and the windows were uncharacteristically wide open.
Last week was a special week in the Jacksons calendar as we had teams at the Great Yorkshire Show for three days. As part of our contract as NFU panel solicitors, we exhibit in the NFU tent at the show. It is always fun to catch up with clients and referrers and to watch the world go by.
The theme of last week was definitely business development as I and my colleagues at Jacksons were out meeting new contacts and discussing opportunities to work with different organisations.
I started the week at the official opening of Gloucester House by the Mayor of Stockton (pictured left).
Well another interesting week with national politics resembling a series of House of Cards. While all this has been going on though it is really important that we work as hard as ever to service our clients but also to promote the north east region and to celebrate business success wherever we can.
Well, it has been quite a week …
It started with us all being in the dark more literally for us at Jacksons than most when our lights fused and has ended with a vote to leave the EU.
